Bond Books Available Direct

It looks like the Fleming estate has been the first to move on cutting out the publisher by releasing electronic copies direct.

It's a fairly bold move, but it'll be interesting to see how it affects the market. I suspect the others will watch them dip their toe and, assuming it's successful (and why wouldn't it be?) they'll take the plunge too.

It won't be fast, it'll be many years before the others all follow suit, but it should start the alarm bells ringing in the gilded cage of the publishing market, the biggest shake-up for a century is on its way.
