Down Time

I was on holiday for two weeks recently (I doubt you noticed, I stayed at home) and when I came back it struck me as odd how the passing of time seems different. When you’re at work and someone is away for two weeks it doesn’t seem very long. All but the gravest emergencies can be put off for ten working days. When you’re away from work though, time seems to slow down. At least, it did for me, it felt very strange coming back to work, like I’d been away for months, not weeks. Strange how something as constant as time seems to change.
